Film Photography

There are periods of my life, when I just make and make and make photographs. It's not that compulsive like it was before, still photographs have property to kind of settle on my computer and then on hard drive, just heading somewhere to eternity.

Film photography has always been very special to me. When I was 17, my first boyfriend gave me old russian camera Zenit as a birthday gift. It's an (electro)mechanical camera. It didn't have exposure meter, so I was exploring Zenit with the help of V.

When I was 15, my mother took me to Paris for a week. That time I was studying in high school and we chose a week in October to come there and spend time together. I had Canon EOS 300 with me, light film slr camera, which I used on auto mode. I used about 9 films there and was very surprised to find some really nice pictures after printing all of them. Quite soon I became obsessed with taking pictures. I was taking pictures of everything: small things, plants, myself, strangers and familiar people. I had stacks of photographs because I could only print the whole entire film to actually look through all the shots. I'm glad that one day I discovered that negatives can be scanned.
Before discovering film I had soap digital camera and even was playing around some editing programs, still it hadn't the thrill that film photography and even digital photography gave me.

In Van I was collecting rolls that I used, and during Christmas break I developed and scanned some. After I came back I started to use film Pentax again. I was putting rolls into special box until I got extremely ready or just sad and came to London Drugs with 2 of them. They developed and digitized them for $30, that is really extreme, though I don't regret at all.

Final Motion Assignment. 

I believe that movie should be a moving paintings synchronised with music and sounds. So I made video and played with it's sound and picture in Adobe Premiere and in AfterEffects. Time for video was limited, though I made even more. My 1,5 minutes.

Maybe I will find myself in making music videos?

I don't know, but russian version of what I wanted to say appeared to be longer --->

У нас был такой предмет в этом модуле, который называется Motion 1. В нем нас посвящали в работу с Adobe AfterEffects. Программа, в которой можно и анимацию делать и играть с эффектами для видео, также всякие зеленый экран отправляется туда. Это мои финальные полторы минуты, для которых я снимала и потом игралась с ними в Премьере и АфтерЭффектс. Вообще для меня это стало счастьем, как и картины писать. Прибавить йогу, танцы, путешествия, языки, учиться музыке, - и жизнь моя будет сплошным свечением и стремлением в небеса свои внутренние прямо на земле.

Я верю, что кино должно быть двигающимися картинами, синхронизированными с музыкой и звуками. Может быть я найду себя в работе с музыкальными клипами?

It's a very fast bird that becomes flower :)

I called it Fibonacci sequence bird, 'cause she has very specific path of her flight.

For Motion Design class I made work in AfterEffects. I do not own the music,

I would love to make longer videos full of beauty, playing with colors and effects :)

 So I don't know if it's finally released. Looks crazy and very sarcastic with Emily Wells and these hip-hop ass girls.
